Structural integrity within Sculptural design

We were engaged to design a street presence that brought freshness and vitality to the dilapidated carport and existing deck. The driveway and carport as well as the side of the house were in disrepair. We created shelter and privacy through a covered deck and a screen of hanging planter baskets while incorporating many beautiful artworks of the owners into the new landscape.

The decorative curvaceous overhead steel beam spans the residence façade and serves to provide a picturesque welcoming archway to the entry. The structural posts supporting the beam are a mix of recycled telegraph poles and square section structural steel.

The overhead beam links the new automated carport tilt-door, through which the revitalised residence side entry and yoga studio lay beyond. The solid timber recycled hardwood of the new decks and gates beautifully complements the wire brushed recycled eucalyptus hardwood posts and the locally quarried stone used in the garden walls.

This stunningly beautiful project much loved by the owners, and us, at AED that makes a truly lasting contribution to the Karma of all who visit the street and this welcoming home.
